"You not only have a beautiful voice and amazing ability on the guitar, but you made us both remember to remember where we came from. It meant a lot to us."

"I spent this morning with [Tradition Bearer], marveling at the depths of Diana Wagner's voice....Quite an accomplished gig, I must say. This CD will find a place in my collection of favorites.

Diana Wagner is an acoustic musician and folksinger who preserves and shares contemporary, historic, and traditional folk music. As an historian, collector, and performer of local and regional music, Diana gives voice to our musical traditions and tells the stories behind the songs.
Born in Northern Wisconsin, Diana plays acoustic and classical guitar, dulcimer, a bit of banjo and diddley-bow. She also plays multiple percussion hand instruments. Folk audiences know that her show-opening trademark is to begin with an a capella mountain song or ballad. Whether singing Civil War songs, blue grass foot-tappers, Irish love ballads, or indie folk from contemporary back roads, Diana is committed to telling the personal stories and sharing the histories of the people who have come before us.
Diana is also a classical guitarist with a variety of musical interests. In addition, she directs the Maryland site of Guitars in the Classroom, an innovative program that brings guitars and music integration to classrooms across the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
