"I spent this morning with [Tradition Bearer], marveling at the depths of Diana Wagner's voice....Quite an accomplished gig, I must say. This CD will find a place in my collection of favorites.

About Diana

Diana Wagner is an acoustic musician and folksinger with an interest in preserving and sharing historic and traditional folk music.  As an  historian, collector, and performer of historic and traditional music, Diana prides herself on giving voice to our musical traditions and telling the stories behind the songs.

Born in Northern Wisconsin, Diana plays acoustic and classical guitar, dulcimer, a bit of banjo and mandolin, and multiple percussion hand instruments.  Folk audiences know that her show-opening trademark is to begin without any instruments and an a capella mountain song or ballad.  Whether singing Civil War songs, blue grass foot-tappers, or Irish love ballads, Diana is committed to telling the personal stories and sharing the histories of the people who have come before us and who walk with us.

Diana performs with innovative dulcimer and recorder player, Jim Hatley, as part of the duo Willow Tree.  Their unique arrangement with guitar, dulcimer, recorder, and voice are featured on Diana's debut CD Tradition Bearer.

Diana is also a classical guitarist with a variety of musical interests.  Currently, Diana is working on a variety of Celtic, Medieval, and Spanish music.  In addition, her current catalog includes a wide array of Baroque music.
